PRACTICE AREAS

Denise’s focus is on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on breach of contract cases, employment matters, real-estate litigation, corporate risk avoidance and pre-litigation advising. She also enjoys advocating on behalf of injured individuals and handles a variety of personal injury cases.

EXPERIENCE

Denise began her career representing the interests of large corporations in a wide range of litigation matters centering on commercial litigation. She defended Fortune 500 companies in personal injury and toxic tort cases and represented corporate clients in breach of contract actions, oil & gas litigation and employment matters.

After several years of advocating on behalf of large corporate clients while working with national and international law firms, Denise sought a more client-focused and interactive practice and so left large-firm life for a smaller firm and, eventually, her own practice. She continued her corporate defense work by consulting with large firms, while beginning to represent smaller companies, entrepreneurs and individuals. Denise’s practice now includes clients of all levels and sizes with considerable work on both the defense and plaintiff’s sides. She practices in both State and Federal Courts and represents clients in all types of alternative dispute resolution.

Denise takes advantage of living near downtown by attending as many Astros games as possible with her husband, Jason. When it isn’t baseball season, they follow Longhorn sports and the Houston Texans and enjoy local Heights area venues and activities.

EDUCATION

Denise was raised in the Houston, Texas suburb of Friendswood and now resides in the City of Houston. Following high school, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and in 1998 was nominated and chosen by her professors as the Student of the Year in the School of Human Sciences and Humanities. Denise served as President of the Legal Studies Association, was a founding chapter member of the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity and was elected by her peers as a Student Representative to the University Administration. Following her graduation with top honors, Denise earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law and then began her legal career as an associate with one of the oldest and largest Texas-based nation-wide law firms.
