PRACTICE AREAS

Mr. Vargo is an attorney with Fridge, Resendez & Wise LLC who practices in the areas of commercial litigation, commercial transactions, real estate litigation, oil and gas litigation, and employment law.

EXPERIENCE

Mr. Vargo has represented shareholders in suits against corporations and defended directors against shareholders and corporations. He has represented individuals and businesses in domestic and international commercial disputes involving breach of contract, various business torts such as fraud and tortious interference, and misappropriation of trade secrets, as well as defended businesses in employment discrimination suits under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. In addition to his commercial and employment experience, Mr. Vargo formerly managed a large insurance defense practice, serving several major international insurers.

Before joining FR&W, Mr. Vargo was a principal of the firm Vargo & Gilman LLP, where he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of civil litigation. Before forming Vargo & Gilman LLP, Mr. Vargo practiced in the litigation section of a large West Texas law firm. While in law school, Mr. Vargo clerked for a large law firm, a prestigious commercial litigation boutique, the 269th District Court of Harris County, Texas (Hon. Judge John T. Wooldridge), and the First Court of Appeals of Texas (Hon. Judge Laura Carter Higley).

EDUCATION

After graduating from the Texas Tech University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance, Mr. Vargo earned his Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law, located in downtown Houston. While in law school, Travis served as a member of the South Texas Law Review, participated in the famed advocacy program, and received awards for both his written and oral advocacy.
